Lose the paper logbook. Keep your fatigue under control.
OneRoad EWD is a phone-based Electronic Work Diary built for heavy-vehicle drivers and fleets. It turns your work and rest hours into a clear visual fatigue clock, with roadside-ready records and live visibility for your operator – no hardware required.
What is OneRoad EWD?
OneRoad EWD replaces paper logbooks with a digital, phone-based record of your work and rest. Drivers use a simple start/stop flow and visual fatigue clock. Fleets see live status for every driver and vehicle, with clean records ready for audits and investigations.
- Guided flow for starting shifts, logging breaks and ending the day – no forms or spreadsheets.
- Visual fatigue clock shows work and rest time remaining at a glance, not in small printed tables.
- Designed for use on a phone mounted in the cab, with large tap targets and dark-mode UI.
- Offline-capable: records queue and sync when coverage returns, so regional work still counts.
Drivers stay focused on the road while OneRoad keeps track of the detail in the background.
- See who is on shift, who is close to a breach, and who hasn’t logged their work correctly.
- Filter by depot, contract, customer, site or fatigue rule set for targeted checks.
- Export clean data sets for investigations, incident reviews, internal audits or regulators.
- Connect EWD events into the Dynamic Dashboard and ORDAS for end-to-end accreditation.
Instead of reading through pages of handwriting, you can search, filter and export the exact records you need.
Everything you need to run digital logbooks.
Drivers see exactly how much work and rest time remains, without calculating in their head.
- Today’s work and rest blocks shown as a simple bar.
- Clear countdown to next required break.
- Warnings as limits approach – not when it’s too late.
Connect EWD to the AI Journey Planner so breaks are built into the route from the start.
- Suggested rest stops that line up with your fatigue clock.
- See where you’ll likely be when breaks fall due.
- Share plans with dispatch and customers if needed.
When an inspector asks for records, drivers open inspection mode – not their personal view.
- Up to 28 days of records in a clean, read-only layout.
- Only the information required for the check is shown.
- Fast to navigate – no flicking through pages.
A simple daily flow that keeps the logbook accurate without extra admin.
- Prompts for pre-start and end-of-day confirmations.
- Suggestions when drivers forget to log a break.
- Clear record if days need to be reviewed later.
Compliance and operations teams see fatigue risk in real time.
- Who is on duty, who is resting, who is nearing a limit.
- Which vehicles have active drivers and trip plans.
- Alerts when drivers don’t log required breaks.
Clean digital records for investigations, claims and accreditation.
- Filter by driver, vehicle, depot or date range.
- Export for insurers, lawyers or regulators if required.
- Feed evidence directly into ORDAS digital accreditation.
What a day with OneRoad EWD looks like.
From the first key-turn to the last trailer drop, EWD stays in the background until you need it – recording what matters and warning you before fatigue becomes an issue.
Driver logs in, confirms they’re fit for duty and starts their shift. The fatigue clock resets for the new work period and any planned journeys are loaded.
As the driver works and rests, the clock updates automatically. Notifications appear as breaks approach, with suggested rest locations from the AI Journey Planner.
If stopped, the driver opens inspection mode and shows their records. At the end of the run, they close the day and all data syncs to the fleet dashboard and Dynamic Dashboard.
Built for solo drivers and enterprise fleets.
OneRoad EWD works whether you’re an owner-driver keeping your own records, or managing hundreds of drivers across multiple depots and contracts.
Simple driver & fleet pricing.
14-day free trial, then driver plans from $15.46 / month.
No lock-in contracts. Cancel anytime. Fleets can choose monthly or annual billing per active driver, with discounts available for larger operations and bundled OneRoad modules.
Use the trial to run EWD alongside your current system on a few lanes or depots. Once you’re confident, switch fully to OneRoad or roll out in stages. Our team can help with change management, training and policy updates if you need them.
Common questions about OneRoad EWD.
Do I need hardware in the truck to use OneRoad EWD?
No. OneRoad EWD is app-based. Drivers just need a compatible smartphone or tablet. You can add OBx hardware later if you want live vehicle tracking and utilisation on top of your EWD data.
Can I use EWD if my company hasn’t signed up yet?
Yes. Drivers can create their own account, start a trial and use EWD on their runs. If your company joins later, your existing records can be linked to their fleet account.
What happens if I’m out of mobile coverage?
The app keeps recording your work and rest offline. When you’re back in coverage, everything syncs to the cloud and your fleet dashboard. Inspection mode still works offline for roadside checks.
Can our compliance team download or export records?
Yes. Fleet users can filter by driver, vehicle, depot or date range and export EWD records for audits, investigations, claims or internal reporting. Exports can also feed into OneRoad’s Dynamic Dashboard and ORDAS.
How is driver privacy handled?
Drivers have a personal view for planning and reviewing their days. Inspection mode shows only what is required for roadside checks, and fleet users only see information relevant to their role and permissions.
