OneRoad
Get your fleet connected.
Three phases take you from a new account to a fully paired fleet: create your OneRoad account, register your vehicles, then install and pair each OBx device. Allow around 15–20 minutes.
What's inside
Create your account
Your fleet account is created in a web browser on a desktop — not the mobile app.
Go to app.oneroad.io & choose Fleet Owner
Open app.oneroad.io in a browser, click Sign Up, and select Fleet Owner when asked for a user type.
Enter your company details
Add your trading name, ABN, company email and phone number, then Continue.
Licence details — only if you also drive
Add your driver licence now if you will drive fleet vehicles yourself, or skip it and add it later from settings.
Register your vehicles
Every vehicle must be in the portal before its OBx can be paired.
Log in to the dashboard
Sign in at app.oneroad.io with your mobile number and the SMS code.
Go to Assets → All Assets
From the left sidebar open Assets. Click “+ Add Asset” (top-right) and Get started.
Enter the rego & confirm
Type the Australian plate — OneRoad searches the NHVR Heavy Vehicle Register — review the details, then tap Add asset to Fleet.
Install & pair the OBx
Physical install, then a quick pair in the app. Repeat for each vehicle.
Locate the OBD-II port
Usually on the driver’s side of the dash or instrument panel; in heavy vehicles, near the centre console. Check the vehicle manual if unsure.
Plug in the OBx — ignition OFF
With the ignition off, firmly insert the OBx (with any required adapter). The connector is keyed and only fits one way — push until it clicks.
Turn the ignition ON
Ignition-on powers the device — the engine need not be running. Give it 15–30 seconds to initialise.
Confirm a flashing blue light
A flashing blue light means the OBx is live and ready to pair.
| Light | Status | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Flashing blue | Device active | Proceed to pairing |
| Solid green | Already paired | Verify in the portal |
| Red / no light | Error or no power | Contact support |
Secure with a cable tie
Once paired, tidy the device and cabling with a cable tie, kept well clear of pedals, the steering column and airbag panels. Inspect it periodically.
Sign in to the OneRoad app
Open the app on your phone and sign in with your registered mobile number. Make sure Bluetooth is on.
Profile → Options → Devices
Tap Profile (bottom-right), open the Options menu (the four-squares icon), then tap Devices.
Add new device to your fleet
Tap “Add new device to your fleet” — the app searches for nearby powered OBx units.
Select the vehicle & pair
Choose the correct registration from the list and tap Continue. Keep the app open within 1–2 metres until it confirms success.
Verify in the portal
In app.oneroad.io → Assets, confirm the vehicle shows an active OBx. Then repeat for the next vehicle.
Which adapter cable?
Some vehicles need an adapter between the OBx and the diagnostic port. Check your make before you start.
→Open the Adapter MatrixSearch your vehicle make, model or connector type to find the exact adapter you need — heavy transport, construction, material handling and agriculture.Need a hand?
